Being a sponsor to a child at El Shadai Foster Home means forming a special bond with a child that transends financial contribution. It is beng a child's friend, a mentor, a parent, a hope and much more. As a sponsor you may or may not chose to be actively involved in the child's life but know that the child will have a special place in its heart for you.

These are children who have faced many difficulties in life. Most children have spent signifant years of their childhood in the streets. They have been looked down upon by society and felt depressed about their lives. You have given them opportunity to get an eduation and actually become somebody in their eyes and the eyes of the society.

This will be a very rewarding experience....we guarantee!!

How does sponsorship work?

If you are interested in sponsoring a child, we will match you a child according to your financial ability and preference. We will provide you with a full profile of the child and will give you their contact information in exchange of yours. The child you are sponsoring and the foster parent/Program Director, Stephen Wante, will write to welcome you in the program.

How and when do I pay?

As soon as you have chosen a child, we will ask you to make a payment (payment varies according to the needs of the child). Payment could be paid in full (yearly), biannually or even monthly. You may chose to pay either via PayPal or write a check to Friends of El Shadai.

Will Friends of El Shadai pay the child?

Friends of El Shadai will collect funds and wire money to Stephen. Both Stephen and Friends of El Shadai will keep a record of the money received.

What to expect from us?

• You can expect us to use the money only for the purpose it is meant for
• You can expect us to handle the donation resourcefully and economically with sound accountability
• You can expect a quarterly accountability of the money sent after being spent
• You can expect a guarantee that the student will attend regularly and give his best according to his abilities.
• You can expect the child to send a short introduction letter about himself as soon as the sponsorship starts
• The child will stay in contact through email with you during his studies and tell you how he is doing
• Stephen and Friends of El Shadai will inform you regularly about the progress of the student.

Why do sponsorship price vary?

Each child's tuition fees varies according to the school the child is attending. Stephen believes that children should be given full opportunity to attend good schools with good faclities as this increases their chances to get into a good University.

Can I visit the child?

Absolutely! We encourage you to visit the child you are sponsoring. El Shadai receives frequently volunteers and visitors who get to spend quality time with the children. El Shadai is equipped to house up to 3 voluneers at a time. You can visit for few days or even stay for months! You will love the experience. Please visit the volunteer page for more information.
