Her story...
She is the last born in her family. She is the sister to Jackie, Hannington and Joseph. Her father abandoned the family and her mother could not afford to even provide food for her family. Immaculate started to come to El-Shadai home to eat a meal when she was hungry. Her father, even though he was not providing for them, refused to allow the children to visit the El-Shadai home and would beat his kids if he found out they did. The children persisted in visiting and Uncle Stephen negotiated with her school to allow her to continue despite her family not paying for the fees. At the end of 2005 Immaculate and her siblings came to live at the home. Her father died of AIDS and left her mother with no means to support herself. El-Shadai home now financially supports her mother and she is receiving treatment for HIV/AIDS.
Interests and Hobbies...
Immaculate is interested in music, singing, dancing, acting and studying.
Notes:
Immaculate was denied education for a time. She was constantly worried about her mother who would often spend the day crying. Her troubled upbringing scarred her mentally and she sometimes gets sick. She is now back in school and doing well. She is a naturally intelligent girl and is actually ahead in her school as a result of skipping grades.
Child Financial Needs:
The Ugandan government does not offer free education at any level. Before coming to the home, many of the children had been forced to drop out of school because they were unable to pay the fees. El-Shadai Family Foster Home believes that all children should have an education and a safe, loving environment where all of their basic needs are met.
