Her Story...

Ester is an orphan. Her parents were very poor and died of HIV/AIDS and alcoholic addiction. She was taken to the street at the age of 3 yrs and she stayed on the street of Jinja for more than five years. She is now fostered at El-Shadai. Esther has no relatives known to her, since she was brought from Moroto when she was very young. We discovered through our family lineage tracing that she is a cousin sister to Achiya Emmanuel who is also in the family. She has decided to leave school and get tailoring training.

Interests and Hobbies

Esther loves singing and is very talented in traditional music. She also loves drumming, singing and studying.

Future plans...

Ester is planning for her future family. She is pregnant and needs to find a source of income to support her child.

Notes:

Esther is the younger sister of Achi Emma. She was brought to Uncle Stephen when she was depressed and tortured. She has been counseled and has improved considerably.

When Esther used to sleep on the streets, she says the ghost of her mother would come disturb her at night. She changed her name from Amuleni which means selfish, to Akello Esther Lonyesi.

Child Financial Needs:

The Ugandan government does not offer free education at any level. Before coming to the home, many of the children had been forced to drop out of school because they were unable to pay the fees. El-Shadai Family Foster Home believes that all children should have an education and a safe, loving environment where all of their basic needs are met.
