His story...

Emmanuel is the first born child in his family. His father abandoned his mother who was a housewife and went to spend time with his other wives. His mother did not have enough money to provide for his basic needs. He was forced to drop out of school because of lack of school fees. His father never told him what tribe he was from or who any of his relatives were. He only found out about his tribe after his father died. His father died of AIDS but did not tell Emmanuel's mother about his illness until after he had infected her. His mother is still alive and getting treatment for the disease and is being financially supported by El-Shadai. After his father's death there was no one in a position to support Emmanuel so he came to join his siblings at El-Shadai home.

Emmanuel and his siblings still visit their mother whenever they can and she comes to visit them at the home from time to time. He has gone through physical and psychological torture from which he is still recovering and receiving counseling.

Child Financial Needs:

The Ugandan government does not offer free education at any level. Before coming to the home, many of the children had been forced to drop out of school because they were unable to pay the fees. El-Shadai Family Foster Home believes that all children should have an education and a safe, loving environment where all of their basic needs are met.
