His story...

Bennert Caleb Odongo is from Lira in Northern Uganda where there is prolonged insurgency and rebel activity caused by Kony rebels. His parents are alive but poor and not working now. They had failed to care for him. He was Moslem but he has converted to Christianity. He lacked the ability to go to school in Northern Uganda where the situation was very unstable. He is now in school and studying toward his dream of becoming a doctor.

Interests and Hobbies...

He is quiet and shy - but loves art, music, dance and drama and playing football.

Future plans...

His performance at school is good and he wants to become a doctor.

Caleb witnessed the wars that prevailed for many years in Northern Uganda.

Child Financial Needs:

The Ugandan government does not offer free education at any level. Before coming to the home, many of the children had been forced to drop out of school because they were unable to pay the fees. El-Shadai Family Foster Home believes that all children should have an education and a safe, loving environment where all of their basic needs are met.
